“I’m an artist currently based in Edinburgh. I have a background in classical 2D animation, and I graduated From Edinburgh College of Art in 2011. I have experience working with classical animation, stop-frame animation, concept design and art, and story-boarding. I’m looking to find work either as a freelance artist in the games and film industry, or as a member of a team and I’m rearing to learn more. I like to keep a flexible style, changing from cartoony, graphic, to more realistic.

My interests lie in art, design, literature, writing, video games, mythology and fairy tales.”

► Martin Dingli was born on the 25/01/1960 in Mediterranean Malta. He is now living in Australia/New York.

His art creations are more concerned with content than technique. Memory collides with imagination as he works to explore cultural themes. He reflects the true colours that he sees, but also dreams an idealised world into his works. Martin’s art is eclectic – landscapes, abstract, figures, fantasy – but his Maltese heritage is a binding element. This is particularly evident in his Maltese Doors series which captures the vivid colours and vibrant culture of his home. His work pushes the boundaries of the latest digital art techniques. In particular, he has developed styles which capture the textures and impacts of oils, stained glass and water colours.

He leaves the interpretation of his pieces to the viewer, but challenges the perception by leaving hidden surprises in many pieces. Martin’s digital art enables a fresh way of seeing the world. His imagination is in my art.

Also, he is a Self taught graphic artist. Art for him is not about winning awards it’s all about expression.
